The chronicle of four ordinary lives in Gaza, at the dawn of 7th October 2023: a music teacher, grandfather, a seaside resident and a stable manager.

This sensitive observational documentary, which was completed on the eve of October 7, is the result of a filmmakers’ workshop held in Gaza in 2023. Unique in its timeliness, the film is a touching study of masculinity through four portraits of endearing characters representing different ways of life in Gaza. It ultimately constitutes a fascinating time capsule. Gazan Tales is perhaps one of the last testimonies from the Gaza Strip before the outbreak of a total genocidal war. The film closely follows the daily lives of its besieged characters, who navigate between existential angst and survival thanks to a culture of constant adaptation and endurance. They cling to music, animals, the beach, and each other.
