Virginia Woolf wrote that one needed a room of one’s own to create. Today, is it a place, a right, or a privilege? With Nedjma, Anaïs, and Lola, I film. I observe them. But that’s not all.
A graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Coco Tassel embarked on an independent career marked by creative profusion in publishing, image, and cinema. She first worked in publishing, releasing around fifteen books as an author, illustrator, and editor, and developed graphic design projects in Japan and Switzerland. She is the author of J’adopte, journal, a graphic novel published by Alternatives Gallimard.
In 2014, she co-founded Cofilms Production with Claire Doyon in order to develop their short and medium-length film projects in complete freedom. Her first film, Hors-cadre, a trilogy, was selected for the Brive Film Festival. She then went on to make one short or medium-length film per year, as well as a video diary, Charlotte en hiver.
Là où l’herbe est plus verte received advance funding from the CNC after completion. Its theatrical release is scheduled for 2026. She is currently working on her third feature film, which continues her cinematic work rooted in the rural Centre region, which has become her playground for directing and reflection.
