Love Is

Djus, a thief with the soul of a filmmaker, uses a smuggled phone to record himself from inside prison, recounting a love story that has stayed with him long after the bars closed behind him. In the film the character and the director together explore and articulate the meaning of love.

Liza Kozlova completed her studies at the Marina Razbezhkina Film School, where her graduation film, In the Eye of the Storm, had its premiere at the 2017 Visions du Réel festival. Since then, she has worked in the creative documentary field as both a director and an editor. Her most recent editing project, Where Are We Headed?, directed by Ruslan Fedotov, received recognition at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in 2021. In 2023, Liza joined the DocNomads Joint Master’s Program.
