A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT FOR FILM FESTIVALS

Since May 1^st, 2025, film festivals have been removed from the “conventional loophole”: they are now covered by an extended collective agreement, which is therefore mandatory. Access to intermittent entertainment industry employment, which was the employees’ primary demand, is now blocked at the national level. Beyond this blockage, what does the collective agreement offer employees, and how are festival organisers adapting to it?
