“At 105, Sixto Muñoz, known as ‘the last Tinigua man’, left his home for one final journey into the Amazon and disappeared. Following his trail along the Guayabero River, the film retraces his fading world and the extinction of an entire culture.”
Guillermo Quintero is a Colombian-French film producer and director. He studied biology at the National University of Colombia and philosophy at the Sorbonne University. His work explores the traces of life, the memory inscribed in it, and the possibility of tracing its image through the language of cinema. Relicto is the third film in a trilogy, the first two parts of which were Homo Botanicus (2018) and Río Rojo (Cinéma du réel 2023, Front(s) Populaire(s) section). As a producer, he has worked on the feature films Transfariana (2023), by Joris Lachaise, and En tierra (2025), by Simón Uribe, presented at the Berlinale and IDFA.
