Catalina Villar

Catalina Villar, born in Bogota, came to France at the age of 20 to study Social Sciences at the EHESS, then trained in cinema at the Ateliers Varan and at the FEMIS in directing. She joined the Ateliers Varan team in 2000 and organized three workshops in Colombia (Bogotá and Cali), one in Venezuela (Mérida) and one in Albania (Tirana). She participated in the workshops in Lisbon, Marseille and Recife, and has been supervising film and writing workshops in Paris since 2000. She is also in charge of the Documentary Writing Workshop at the Fémis and has given lectures at various Masters and Film Schools (Cuba, Spain, Colombia…). At the same time, she continues to make documentary films (Cahiers de Medellín, Totó la Momposina, Patricio Guzmán une histoire chilienne, Invente-moi un pays, La Nueva Medellin, Camino…).
