France
82 min
Language: Spanish
I have been going to Tijuana regularly for more than 15 years now and every time I go, I come across the ghostly silhouettes of the women who haunt this place. I call them “white ladies”.
Jean-Charles Hue has notably directed La BM du Seigneur (2010) and Mange tes morts (2014), a film awarded the Jean Vigo Prize and the France Culture Prize. In parallel to his French films, he has been working for several years on the city of Tijuana, which takes different forms: short film with Tijuana Tales (2017), feature film with Tijuana Bible (2019) or documentary with Topo y Wera (2018). The Soiled Doves of Tijuana (2022) is his last film shot there. He is currently preparing his next feature film, Blood Spit from Beautiful Lips.
